Your Club Needs You

We’re looking to expand our loyal group of 7 Committee Members.

As the club continues to grow and improve there are a number of roles we could really do with some help with (and even if there’s not a specific role that you feel would suit you we’d love to have you involved with the committee any way – there are plenty of things to get your teeth into).

Our next committee meeting is on 7th December, we’d love for you to come along to see what it’s all about before committing to anything – a kind of try before you buy offer! It’s by no means a hugely time-consuming commitment – we meet approx. once every 1-2 months.

Specifically, the roles we’re looking to fill include:

  • Social Secretary

  • Publicity/Communications Secretary

  • Vice-Chair

If you’re interested in any of these roles (or just getting involved more generally) please   Ed.

More Success for Deddington Tennis Club!

Congratulations to our A team who gained promotion to the top Division in Banbury Tennis’ Summer League this year. An incredible achievement given the top competition they were up against in Division 2 (including our own B Team!)

Our very first under-10s Junior Team recently won their first ever match – well done, you’re our tennis stars of the future

Huge congratulations to Ben Sims (one of our Junior players) who has got to the second round of the Road to Wimbledon Junior Tournament (the biggest junior tournament in British tennis)

Sonia Chiorean (one of our Under-9s juniors) has won two awards at the prestigious Oxfordshire Junior Tennis Awards which were held last month (she won the ‘Coach’s Club Player‘ award and the Under-9s ‘Coaches’ County Player’ award). Well done Sonia, a fantastic achievement

Kathryn Hampshire (one of our A-team players) is currently representing Oxfordshire Ladies

Justin Sims (our A-team Captain) has been selected to train with the Oxfordshire Veterans team

Well done to you all – we’re hugely proud of your achievements and for helping to put Deddington Tennis Club on the map
